CEREC stands for "Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics" and refers to a computer-assisted procedure for manufacturing dental prostheses. This innovative technology enables us to produce high-quality, impression-free dental prostheses directly at the treatment chair in our practice. The CEREC system combines state-of-the-art 3D imaging technology with precise computer technology and an integrated milling unit.CEREC treatment is based on a digital workflow that eliminates the need for conventional impressions. Instead, we use a special camera to create precise digital impressions of your teeth. This data is then processed by the CEREC software and converted into a three-dimensional model. Based on this, the system designs the optimal restoration that is perfectly adapted to your individual dental situation. Dr. Niels Hoffmann has been using this technology successfully for years and appreciates its precision and the opportunity it offers to provide patients with time-efficient treatment. The CEREC procedure represents the current state of the art in digital dentistry.
CEREC represents a biological approach to modern dentistry. The ceramic materials used are completely biocompatible and do not cause allergic reactions. Unlike metal restorations, there are no galvanic currents in the oral cavity that could disturb the biological balance.
The precise fit of CEREC restorations minimizes bacterial accumulation at the edges and contributes to long-term oral health. Dr. Niels Hoffmann particularly appreciates the ability to work in a way that preserves tooth structure while ensuring maximum biocompatibility. These characteristics make CEREC an ideal solution for patients who value biological dentistry.

Before every CEREC treatment, we carry out a comprehensive diagnosis in our practice. Dr. Niels Hoffmann first examines the affected tooth and creates a detailed record of the current situation. We check the substance of the tooth and plan the optimal restoration. If necessary, local anesthesia is administered to make the procedure as painless as possible.
Digital planning allows us to visualize the best possible result before the actual treatment. Our team will explain the treatment process to you in detail and answer all your questions. This careful preparation forms the basis for successful CEREC treatment.
The actual CEREC treatment begins with the preparation of the tooth. Dr. Niels Hoffmann removes damaged tooth substance and shapes the tooth for the planned restoration. This is followed by a digital impression with the CEREC camera. Within a few minutes, this creates a precise three-dimensional image of the prepared tooth and the surrounding structures.
The data obtained is transferred directly to the CEREC system, where the software designs the optimal restoration. Dr. Niels Hoffmann checks and optimizes the digital design according to individual requirements. Once the design is complete, the integrated milling unit fabricates the appropriate restoration from a high-quality ceramic block.
After completion, the CEREC restoration is checked for fit and aesthetics. If necessary, we make fine adjustments. Finally, the impression-free denture is permanently fixed in place and the Occlusion is checked.
No special follow-up treatment is usually necessary after CEREC treatment. The restoration is immediately fully functional, and you can eat and drink normally. However, our team will give you important tips on optimal care.
In the first few days after treatment, you should avoid very hard or sticky foods in order to protect the new restoration. You can continue with your usual oral hygiene routine without any problems. A check-up appointment after a few weeks ensures that the CEREC restoration has integrated optimally and that no further corrections are necessary.

We only use high-quality all-ceramic blocks for CEREC restorations. These materials are metal-free, biocompatible, and offer a natural aesthetic. The ceramics used are characterized by high strength and durability.
With good care, CEREC restorations can last 15-20 years or longer. The exact durability depends on individual factors such as oral hygiene and wear and tear. Regular check-ups contribute to longevity.
After treatment, you should avoid hot drinks for a few hours if you have been given anesthesia. Normal oral hygiene can be resumed immediately. Very hard foods should be avoided for the first few days.
The cost of CEREC treatment varies depending on the type and extent of the restoration. We will be happy to provide you with an individual cost estimate after a thorough examination. Our team will advise you in detail on all aspects of financing.
Coverage depends on your insurance and the medical necessity. Statutory health insurance companies usually cover a fixed subsidy, while private insurance companies often reimburse higher percentages. Our team will be happy to assist you in clarifying coverage.
