Ceramic implants offer an aesthetic solution for high-quality dental prostheses. Our experienced team at moderndentistry in Leipzig will be happy to advise you on the possibilities of this innovative treatment method.
The loss of teeth can significantly impair both chewing function and aesthetics. Ceramic implants offer a modern solution for high-quality dental prostheses. At our moderndentistry practice in Leipzig, we rely on this innovative treatment method, which is characterized by its exceptional biocompatibility.
Ceramic implants are made of high-quality zirconium oxide and are a metal-free alternative to conventional titanium implants. Our dentist, Dr. Niels Hoffmann, has extensive experience in implantation and will be happy to advise you on the possibilities of this treatment method.
The advantages are particularly evident in the natural aesthetics and excellent compatibility. As the material is completely metal-free, it is also suitable for patients with metal intolerances or who desire holistic treatment. Our patients appreciate the natural appearance, which is almost indistinguishable from real teeth.

A ceramic implant is an artificial tooth root made of high-quality zirconium oxide that is inserted into the jawbone. This material is characterized by exceptional strength and natural aesthetics. Unlike titanium implants, they are made entirely of metal-free materials.
Zirconium oxide is a white, bioinert material that is optimally tolerated by the body. Our team uses digital planning procedures to ensure precise implantation. The surface is specially structured to ensure optimal healing in the bone.
Dr. Niels Hoffmann uses proven procedures based on the latest scientific findings. The ceramic implants serve as a stable base for crowns, bridges, or dentures. Their white color means they do not shine through the gums, ensuring natural-looking results.
With proper care and regular check-ups, they are very durable. Studies show comparable success rates to titanium implants when used for the appropriate indications.
Ceramic implants are suitable for patients who have lost one or more teeth and prefer a metal-free solution. They are particularly suitable for people with metal allergies or intolerances. In our practice, we carry out diagnostics to check suitability.
Important prerequisites are sufficient bone availability in the jaw area and good oral hygiene. Various factors such as bone quality, gum condition, and general health are examined. Patients should not smoke or be willing to quit smoking.
Certain conditions, such as untreated periodontitis or uncontrolled diabetes, require pre-treatment. Age also plays a role—as a rule, bone growth should be complete.
Consultation is our priority. We will explain all treatment options to you and work with you to find the best solution for your situation.

Preparation begins with a detailed consultation and diagnosis in our practice. Dr. Niels Hoffmann first performs a clinical examination and takes digital X-rays to assess the bone structure. For more complex cases, we use three-dimensional imaging.
This is followed by digital implant planning, during which the optimal position and alignment of the ceramic implant is determined. Our team will explain the planned procedure to you in detail and answer all your questions. Any necessary pre-treatment, such as professional teeth cleaning, will be carried out before the procedure.
The preoperative consultation includes detailed information about the procedure, possible risks, and aftercare. You will also receive written instructions on what to do before and after the implantation. Upon request, we can perform the treatment under twilight sedation or general anesthesia.
The implantation is performed under local anesthesia in our well-equipped treatment rooms. After the anesthesia, the gums are carefully opened and the bone is precisely prepared for the ceramic implant. Special instruments are used that are tailored to the properties of ceramic.
The ceramic dental Implant is then gently inserted into the prepared bone. We take care to ensure optimal positioning for subsequent prosthetic restoration. The treatment is usually painless and takes about one to two hours per Implant.
After insertion, the gums are sutured and the implant is closed with a cover screw. In certain cases, immediate restoration with a temporary denture is possible. Symptom-related therapy with appropriate medication supports healing.
Our team carefully monitors the entire procedure and adapts the treatment to your needs. Technology and gentle procedures ensure a pleasant treatment process.
Implantation is followed by an important healing phase lasting several months. During this time, the bone grows firmly onto the ceramic implant. Regular check-ups at our practice ensure that healing progresses optimally. Our team will give you detailed instructions for aftercare at home.
The first check-up takes place a few days after the procedure. We check the wound healing and remove the stitches if necessary. Further appointments are scheduled after two, six, and twelve weeks. The healing process and the integration of the Implant are assessed.
Once healing is complete, the ceramic implant is exposed and an impression is taken for the final denture. The crown or bridge is fabricated in our dental laboratory. Finally, the permanent denture is attached to the implant.
Lifelong aftercare with regular professional teeth cleaning and check-ups is crucial for long-term success.

With optimal care and regular check-ups, ceramic implants can last for many years or even decades. Their durability depends on various factors such as oral hygiene, bone quality, and risk factors.
As with any surgical procedure, there are certain risks associated with ceramic implants. These include infections, injury to nerves or neighboring structures, and incomplete healing.
Social competence is usually restored after a few days. Slight swelling and discomfort may occur in the first few days, but this subsides quickly. For treatments in the front teeth area.
Sports activities should be avoided for the first one to two weeks after implantation. Light physical activity is usually possible earlier, but intense exercise increases the risk of bleeding and complications.
The cost of digital impressions is part of the overall treatment cost. We will provide you with transparent information about all costs incurred and will be happy to provide you with a detailed cost estimate.
Statutory health insurance companies usually only cover a fixed subsidy for prosthetic care, but not the costs of the implant itself. Private health insurance companies reimburse different portions of the treatment costs depending on the tariff.
