A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is inserted into the jawbone and serves as the basis for a dental crown, bridge, or prosthesis. Dental implantation is a surgical procedure in which this artificial tooth root is precisely anchored in the jawbone. At our modern dentistry practice, we only use ceramic implants for maximum biocompatibility, which integrate optimally into the body's own tissue.
The dental implant consists of three main components: the implant body as an artificial tooth root, the connecting piece (abutment), and the visible dental crown. Unlike conventional titanium implants, our ceramic implants offer the advantage of a white color that does not show through even with thin gums. We perform dental implantations using state-of-the-art DVT X-ray technology for precise diagnostics and fully digitally planned templates, allowing each implant to be inserted with millimeter precision. This innovative technology enables us to place dental implants with the highest precision and minimal stress for you.
Dental implants are used when one or more teeth have been completely lost – whether due to accidents, Caries, Periodontitis, or other causes. Without dentures, the jawbone in the affected area would deteriorate due to lack of stress. This bone loss can destabilize adjacent teeth and lead to further tooth loss.
Dental implants prevent this process because, like natural tooth roots, they transfer chewing pressure to the jawbone, thereby stimulating it. Unlike bridges, dental implants do not require healthy neighboring teeth to be ground down. This preserves the natural tooth substance, which is a decisive advantage for long-term oral health.
Dental implants are among the most durable forms of tooth replacement. With optimal care and regular check-ups, dental implants can last a lifetime. Studies show success rates of over 95 percent after ten years. Our ceramic implants offer particular advantages over conventional titanium implants: they are completely corrosion-resistant and do not trigger any allergic reactions.
The longevity of dental implants depends on various factors. In addition to the quality of the implant and the precision of the implantation, your oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups play a decisive role. Smoking, diabetes, or periodontitis can affect the lifespan of implants. Our navigated implantation with a fully digitally planned template creates the ideal conditions for the permanent integration of ceramic implants. Dr. Niels Hofmann attaches great importance to precise aftercare in order to identify and treat any problems at an early stage.
The cost of dental implants varies depending on the individual case, the number of implants required, and any additional measures that may be necessary, such as Bone augmentation. The price per ceramic implant is between €2,000 and €2,500. Our high-quality ceramic implants and state-of-the-art DVT diagnostics with fully digitally planned templates represent an investment in your long-term oral health.
Statutory health insurance companies grant a fixed subsidy for the dentures attached to them. Private insurance companies cover different portions of the treatment costs depending on the tariff. After a detailed consultation and diagnosis, we will be happy to provide you with a transparent cost estimate and inform you about possible financing options.

Dental implantation begins with a comprehensive diagnosis using state-of-the-art DVT X-ray technology. This three-dimensional imaging allows us to precisely analyze the bone structure, nerve pathways, and the optimal implant position. Based on this data, we create a fully digital implant plan, which serves as the basis for navigated implantation.
Together, we discuss your individual treatment plan and explain all the steps involved in dental implantation. Fully digital planning allows us to visualize the final result before the procedure and to produce a precisely fitting drilling template.
The actual dental implantation is performed under local anesthesia and is therefore usually painless. Thanks to our fully digitally planned template, we can insert each ceramic implant with millimeter precision. This navigated implantation minimizes surgical trauma and significantly increases precision.
First, the gums are gently opened and the implant body is inserted into the jawbone in exactly the right position with the help of the digital template. Our ceramic implants are characterized by their excellent biocompatibility and integrate optimally into the body's own tissue. After insertion, the Implant is initially closed so that it can heal undisturbed. This healing phase usually lasts two to six months, depending on the individual bone situation. During this time, you will receive a temporary denture if necessary, which is both functionally and aesthetically satisfactory.
After dental implantation, regular check-ups are important to monitor the healing process. In the first few days, there may be slight swelling or sensitivity, but this can be easily treated with appropriate medication. We will give you detailed instructions on what to do in the first few days after the procedure.
Once the ceramic dental implant has healed completely, the final dental crown is placed. This is custom-made in our master laboratory and perfectly matched to your natural teeth. Regular professional teeth cleaning and careful oral hygiene are crucial for the long-term success of your dental implants.

In principle, dental implants can be used in any patient with healthy jawbone and completed jaw growth. Age plays a minor role here—the decisive factors are rather the patient's general state of health and bone quality. Our comprehensive diagnostics using state-of-the-art DVT X-ray technology provide us with precise information about the bone conditions and enable us to plan individualized treatment.
Dental implants are also possible even with low bone volume. If necessary, we can create the necessary conditions through bone augmentation measures.
A dental crown is the visible part of the dental prosthesis that is placed on top of the dental implant. At moderndentistry, crowns are made exclusively from high-quality all-ceramic materials in our master laboratory. They are metal-free, biocompatible, and perfectly matched to the color of your natural teeth.
For maximum biocompatibility, we use only ceramic implants. These have excellent tissue compatibility, are corrosion-resistant, and are aesthetically advantageous because they do not show through even with thin gums. Ceramic implants do not cause allergic reactions and integrate optimally into the body's own tissue.
Bone augmentation is necessary when there is insufficient bone material to securely anchor the dental implant. This can be caused by prolonged tooth loss, periodontitis, or other factors. Using state-of-the-art DVT diagnostics, it is possible to accurately assess whether there is sufficient bone substance or whether augmentation measures are necessary.
After dental implantation, you should rest and refrain from eating hard foods, smoking, drinking alcohol, and exercising for the first few days. Cool the treated area and follow our detailed aftercare instructions. Appropriate medication can be taken for pain or swelling. Regular check-ups are crucial for successful healing.
Dental implants are cleaned like natural teeth—with careful brushing, dental floss, and interdental brushes if necessary. Cleaning the transition between the implant and the gums is particularly important. Regular professional teeth cleaning contributes significantly to the longevity of your dental implants.
